ABSTRACT

Contamination of groundwater by heavy metal is one of the most emerging and serious environmental problems. There are so many methods which are available to overcome these problems. Among various available methods, hybrid organic–inorganic ion exchange resin has become more popular due to certain advantages over other available conventional methods; hence, in the present proposed work, we synthesised a hybrid organic–inorganic composite material polyacrylamide zirconium (IV) iodosulphosalicylate by using the sol-gel technique. Synthesised resin was characterised by various methods like Infrared spectroscopy and Thermogravimetric analysis-Differential thermal analysis. Various samples of this ion exchange resin are prepared by changing the condition of synthesis, i.e. concentration of acrylamide to rationalise the ion exchange capacity of the synthesise hybrid organic–inorganic ion exchange resins. A mixture of 0.1 M potassium iodate, 0.1 M sulphosalicylic acid and 0.1 M acrylamide was added dropwise to 0.4 M zirconium oxychloride accompanied by constant stirring for 8 h using magnetic stirrer at 70°C to yield polyacrylamide zirconium (IV) iodosulphosalicylate with maximum ion exchange capacity. Ion exchange capacity of synthesised resin was determined by column method and the maximum ion exchange capacity was found for Pb(II). Determination of kd values shows that the resin was highly selective for Pb (II).The selectivity for Pb was also evaluated by using certain binary mixture separation such as Ni (II)-Pb(II), Cu(II)-Pb(II), Cd(II)-Pb(II), Sr(II)-Pb(II), Ba(II)-Pb(II),Zn(II)-Pb(II) and Mg(II)-Pb(II).  相似文献

A flow-injection procedure is described for the determination of carbaryl based on its inhibition effect on luminol-cobalt(II) chemiluminescence reaction in alkaline medium in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. The calibration data over the range 5.0?×?10?7 to 20?×?10?6?M give a correlation coefficient (r 2) of 0.9972 with relative standard deviations (RSD; n?=?4) in the range of 1.0–2.1% with a limit of detection (3?×?blank noise) of 2.37?×?10?7?M for carbaryl. The sample throughput was 120?h?1. The effects of some carbamates, anions, and cations were studied on luminol CL system for carbaryl determination. The proposed method has been applied to determine carbaryl in natural waters.  相似文献

Two dimensional incompressible steady viscous nano-fluid flow with the impacts of heat generation and porous medium is examined numerically. For this objective Ti6Al4v are taken as nano-particles dispersed in different base fluids such as methanol, engine oil and water. Basically in this study we will compare three different nano-fluids to assess their flow behaviour and thermal performance. The flow model is developed under certain assumptions. The two dimensional non-linear PDEs are converted into non-linear ODEs with suitable transformation. The numerical procedure is adopted to find the results by using Bvp4c technique in MATLAB. Moreover, graphs are generated for various parameters against the temperature and velocity profiles. The fluid behaviour for different parameter is examined on velocity and temperature profile. It is depicted that for high values of volume fraction and curvature parameter nano-particles leads to high velocity and temperature profile. Moreover, velocity profile decreases for permeability parameter, while temperature profile enhances for heat generation parameter. The influence of Nusselt number and skin friction also assessed. Aggregation behavior of cationic gemini (hexanediyl-1,5-bis(dimethylcettylammonium bromide) (16-5-16)) surfactant with conventional single chain surfactants cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide (TTAB) were studied with the help of fluorescence measurements. Fluorescence probe is a proficient technique for examining the surfactant-surfactant interaction and aggregation. The micelle aggregation number (N agg) was measured using steady-state fluorescence quenching method. The micelle aggregation numbers of binary combinations fall between those of constituent surfactants. The micropolarity (I 1/I 3), binding constant (K sv) and dielectric constant (D exp) of mixed systems were determined from the ratio of peaks intensity in the pyrene fluorescence spectrum. The I 1/I 3 values were found to be more than >1, showing more polar environment around pyrene in the mixed micelle as compared to the pure micelles.  相似文献

Nanostructured cobalt (Co) and cobalt-iron (CoFe) alloy coatings were electrodeposited from sulfate solutions in the presence and absence of saccharin. The effects of saccharin on the corrosion behavior of Co and CoFe alloy coatings were investigated using the electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM) technique coupled with cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements. Saccharin was added to the electrolyte as a grain refiner and brightener. Interestingly, opposite corrosion behaviors were found for all nanostructured coatings in 0.1 M H2SO4 and 0.1 M NaOH. The use of saccharin as an additive in the plating solution accelerated the anodic reaction for all deposits in acidic medium. The mass decreases while dissolution rate increased with higher saccharin concentration. Meanwhile, formation of a thick passive film on the Co electrode surface were enhanced while a hindering effect was observed for CoFe alloy coatings deposited in the presence of saccharin in alkaline solution. The anodic and cathodic curves obtained from potentiodynamic polarization experiments were also in agreement with the EQCM results.  相似文献

Microfluidic system, or lab-on-a-chip, has grown explosively. This system has been used in research for the first time and then entered in the clinical section. Due to economic reasons, this technique has been used for screening of laboratory and clinical indices. The microfluidic system solves some difficulties accompanied by clinical and biological applications. In this review, the interpretation and analysis of some recent developments in microfluidic systems in biomedical applications with more emphasis on tissue engineering and cancer will be discussed. ABSTRACT

The adsorption of phosgene (COCl2) on pristine, Al- and Si-doped boron nitride nanoflakes (BNNFs) is studied using density functional theory calculations. The adsorption energies of the most stable complexes, formed from interaction between COCl2 and the pristine, Al- and Si-doped BNNFs are ?28.97, ?78.71 and ?171.60?kJ/mol at the M06-2X/6-31?+?G* level of theory, respectively. It is found that COCl2 experiences a chemisorption interaction over the doped BNNFs, significantly altering its structure with respect to the gas-phase molecule. The COCl2 adsorption can also induce a change in the HOMO–LUMO or SOMO–LUMO energy gap of the surface. In particular, the adsorption of COCl2 is found to decrease the HOMO–LUMO energy gap of Al-doped BNNF by about 30%. It is suggested that the Al- or Si-doped BNNFs can be considered as a potential material for detecting toxic COCl2.  相似文献

Vicinal benzoyloxy-trans-bicyclo [2.2.1] heptanic bromhydrins, otherwise difficult to obtain are formed from N-bromosuccinimide and norbornanes bearing a 2-aryl-1,3 dioxolane skeleton. The greater stability of the intermediate dioxolenium ion reduces the tendency towards both Wagner-Meerwein rearrangement and neighbouring group participation by chlorine, processes usually observed when a less stable intermediate is involved. Nevertheless, methoxycarbonyl neighbouring group participation and Wagner Meerwein rearrangment occur in methoxycarbonylbicyclo [2.2.1]heptane and in a bornanic compound respectively.  相似文献
